Hand-lasting is a traditional technique that has been used for generations by bespoke shoemakers to create high-quality shoes.

However, in modern times, shoe factories have turned to hydraulic-lasting machines to increase efficiency and speed up the production process. These machines can quickly pull the upper over the vamp and attach it tentatively to the insole. However, they cannot shape the waist, and the instep of shoe lasts as accurately as hand-lasting.

At Yeossal & Co, we take immense pride in the artistry and craftsmanship of our shoes. In order to achieve the perfect shape, we go the extra mile and hand-last all of our shoes using pliers, nails, and pure physical strength. Although the process is time-consuming and requires a lot of effort, we believe that this level of attention to detail is what sets our shoes apart from the rest. By doing so, we are able to create high-quality shoes that are not only visually appealing but also incredibly comfortable to wear.

Our top priority is to maintain high quality standards for all of our shoes, including the heels. To achieve this, we make use of the traditional technique of layering leather to construct the heel, which is then shaped through a rigorous sanding process with great attention to detail. This method ensures that each heel is meticulously handcrafted to perfection.
